The Groundskeeper
Bartholomew Perrywinkle would never be described as a jolly fellow. He lived every day as if it were a torture to his soul, until one day he was not of the mortal realm. The Gods being typically evil decided he would have to spend at least one day truly living before he could pass on. Unfortunately, no one told him this, so poor Bartholomew prowls the darkness every night following his lantern and looking for the elusive door to the next realm.
It is said if you call his name three times in a row he will appear and ask for the exit.
As for me, I really enjoyed making this piece. The majority of my work is cute and cartoony, so this was a real challenge to break out of that box. He was created with modelling chocolate and then painted with cocoa butter and dust colours to give him that old, mouldy look of death haha.
Old Barty will live with me and I’ll make sure to pass on the note from the Gods. 😉
