My piece is inspired by the concept of the alternate dimension, the Upside down in the series “Stranger Things.” This creative masterpiece offers a unique perspective on the duality of reality portraying the real world and the eerie “Upside Down”. The real world is embodied by the character Eleven, a focal point of the series. Painted with a range of colors, Eleven represents the warmth and brightness of the real world. In stark contrast, the “Upside Down” is symbolized by a second cake, portraying the entity known as Vecna. This painting is infused with dark, surreal details and represents the twisted and otherworldly dimension from the show. Veins of eerie, black tendrils snake around the cake, and a misty, unsettling aura surrounds it. Vecna’s presence is a chilling reminder of the ominous and sinister forces lurking in the shadows. The contrast between Eleven and Vecna, brought to life through the two cakes, encapsulates the essence of “Stranger Things” in a sweet, edible reflection of the show’s exploration of the mysterious and the ordinary, the known and the unknown.
