Sure, we all have romanticised ideas about what it would be like to be a mermaid or a merman, but how would you feel if it actually happened to you? If you actually found yourself transformed into a merperson and it wasn’t even your choice…?

When Wade stumbled into the carnival sideshow with his friends, he was just planning on taking in the sights and having a bit of a laugh about the freaks and oddities on display. Little did he know that he had caught the eye of the corrupt and evil ringmaster, who had decided that he would provide the perfect addition to his little… collection.

Separating Wade from his friends was easy… as was convincing the resident witchdoctor to cast a little curse. Unfortunately, the transformation process is a little jarring, but it will all be over soon.

And as for the ringmaster? Well, he is rubbing his hands together in glee – the Ringling Brothers don’t have a real live merman in their collection…

A primary school teacher by day, Rob Baker-Gall is the cake artist, baker, writer and YouTube creator behind Mr Baker’s Cakes.
