The Kindly Witch
Meet the Kindly Witch! She is holding a wand, but only uses her magic powers for good. She befriends animals and protects them. This edible witch was created with chocolate, modeling chocolate and fondant over a wire and threaded rod structure. The character is inspired by the art of Dustin Poche. The witch‘s head is made of chocolate. Her face and hands are sculpted with modeling chocolate. Her clothes were created with fondant with cake lace details. The pumpkins and skull are fondant mixed with tylose powder. The cat, snake and mouse are all made with fondant. The witch‘s eyes are molded with isomalt and hand painted. I made her hair with pulled sugar (aka dragon’s beard). There is a grey tabby cat peeking out from under her skirt. She is modeled after my own kitten. The witch also has a friendly green snake coming out of her pocket, and there is a tiny brown mouse sitting on top of her hat.
