1980s VHS Tapes
Narrowing down my choices of 80s movies to three was challenging. Ultimately I chose these three movies because of their relation to the show. Ghost Busters was the theme of the boys’ Halloween costumes the season they meet Max. Dustin and Suzie sing the theme song to The NeverEnding Story in Season 3. Lastly, I chose “Gremlins.” While it was not specifically mentioned in the show, that movie reminded me of Stranger Things Season 2, Episode 3 “Pollywog” where Dustin finds a cute little creature he names “D’Artagnan” (called “Dart”) that seems innocent at first but turns out to be a Demodog from the Upside Down.
I had fun making these VHS tapes — and they brought back great memories of my own 80s childhood. They were created with fondant and edible paint and powdered food color, then finished with edible glaze to look shiny.
