Eight year old Anna was an only child. She lived with her parents in a beautiful house that Anna’s parents bought recently. The house was rumoured to be haunted by a dog and, therefore, no one wanted to live in that house. Anna’s Papa was very practical and a man of science and considered all those rumours to be utter nonsense and bought the house at almost half the market value. After moving into the house, Anna realised she did not know anyone in the neighbourhood and the area mostly had grownups living in it. Since Anna was an only child, she felt very lonely at times. When she first heard the rumour about Sam — the dog ghost, she wished she could play with the rumoured dog ghost. One fine day, when Anna’s parents came into her room to wake her up, but to their shock she was never to be woken up again.. When the doctors came they told the unfortunate parents that their daughter died in her sleep peacefully and they could not find a cause of death. Whether it was some black magic, a curse or some mysterious disease, no one knew. Anna’s parents were so heartbroken that they sold the house. However, people in the area often hear a girl and a dog’s voices, as if they were playing together. Many believe it is Anna and Sam.
