Count Viktor de Ghould – Violet Lin Tran

Count Viktor de Ghould

Meet Count Viktor de Ghould, my take on a Victorian Vampire.   For this piece, I was highly influenced by my favourite Vampire movie of all time, Interview with the Vampire, and my love of Steampunk and Victorian era attire.

As I often do in this collab, I stretched out of my comfort zone and attempted for only the second time, a realistic face.  Although my vampire looked nothing like I originally imagined, and he almost got tossed in the bin before I added colouring to his face, I am glad I saw him through and didn’t end up changing plans and giving up on him before the end.  There’s lots to improve on and I endeavour to work on those areas, but I am content with how he turned out, especially given how bad he was before I got him to this point.  At least my daughter thinks he looks creepy, but then again, she IS only 6 and he WAS just a head on a stick when she first saw him, lol.

As always, it is such an honour to participate in this collaboration and to see and be amongst all the other pieces.   Thanks to Avalon for hosting such an awesome group each year.  Happy 6th Anniversary to us!
